This new outbreak is the Bundibugyo variant, which does not have any treatment or vaccines, making the response most complex. It is also spreading rapidly as the province of North Kivu has declared one confirmed case, and Uganda has confirmed 1 case. World Vision is calling for a coordinated and cross-border response.

This article illustrates World Vision's support for internally displaced people in Kwango and Maindombe provinces who have fled clashes between Mombondo militias and DRC loyalist forces. Thousands of them have no resources to survive in the host communities. They are receiving funds to meet the immediate needs of their families and food to boost their food security and nutritional status, especially that of their children.

An estimated 14.8 million people in Afghanistan, like Abdul Jabar and his family, will face acute food insecurity in 2025.
