Nutrition Post Has Changed Little Alfredo's Life

Friday, October 3, 2014

Nutrition Post is frequently held in the Integrated Post Service (Posyandu) in Aijaoka, Oenini village. This activity is attended by mothers and toddler's caregivers. Nutrition Post makes them more understand about parenting and food giving system to the children.

The training of parenting and food giving system is assisted by Nutrition Extension Officer (TPG) from Public Health Center (Puskesmas) Nimasi and Oenino village midwives. The Nutrient Post in this village has changed the life of Oenino village children. Their weights rise. Besides, the ribbon as the symbol for the Road to Health Card (KMS) changes from yellow to green.

Alfredo, 2, feels the change. The weight of son of Vero, 36, gains and the symbol in his Road to Health Card change from yellow to green. Alfredo is one of five Oenino children who join Nutrition Post. He has ‘graduated' on April 24, 2014 in the Oenino community discussion.

"I always give my children nutritious food every day according to menu suggested by Nutrition Post. I learn how to make the menu and keep the food healthy," said Vero in the Aijaoka Posyandu last June 2014.

Wahana Visi Indonesia office in North Central Timor wishes that other children would get benefits like Alfredo did because the children are the future of Oenino village. Mothers and toddler caregivers are wished to give the best for their children so they could be the next bright and strong generation.
