World Vision Lesotho to Host Journalists’ Training on the Economic Inclusion Program
PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
Date: 08 December 2025
World Vision International Lesotho (WVIL) is pleased to announce that it will host a two-day journalists’ training on the Economic Inclusion Program (EIP) from 08–09 December 2025 at Blue Mountain Inn Hotel. The training aims to equip members of the media with accurate, consistent, and comprehensive information to support public understanding and engagement around the program.
WVIL has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development to lead the implementation of the World Bank–funded Economic Inclusion Program, a key component (1A) of the broader Pathways to Sustainable Livelihoods Project (PSLP). The PSLP is a 2-year initiative (2025–2027) designed to improve the efficiency and equity of selected social assistance programs while strengthening the livelihoods of poor and vulnerable households in Lesotho.
Running over a 22-month period from August 2025 to June 2027, the project will be implemented across five districts:
Mokhotlong (Mphokojoane)
Botha-Bothe (Likila)
Thaba-Tseka (Tenesolo)
Maseru (Manonyane)
Qacha’s Nek (Nt’supe)
Through this training, World Vision Lesotho seeks to build strong collaboration with journalists, recognizing their essential role in shaping public discourse, promoting transparency, and ensuring that communities have access to timely and reliable information about development initiatives.
Speaking ahead of the event, World Vision Lesotho emphasized the importance of inclusive communication in guaranteeing that the intended beneficiaries—particularly poor and vulnerable households—receive clear messages about opportunities, processes, and impact related to the EIP. The training will also introduce journalists to the key goals, approaches, and expected outcomes of the Economic Inclusion Program, fostering a shared understanding that will enable consistent, accurate reporting throughout the implementation period.
Call to Action
World Vision Lesotho encourages all media practitioners, stakeholders, and community partners to actively engage with the Economic Inclusion Program by sharing credible information, amplifying the voices of vulnerable households, and supporting efforts aimed at strengthening livelihoods across the country. Together, we can contribute to a more informed society and promote sustainable development for the most affected communities.
