Integrating Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS): Lessons from a multi-sectoral initiative

This poster was presented by Jane Rachell Cari, World Vision International, at the Bold Ideas for Brighter Futures: 2nd Global Conference on Child and Adolescent Mental Health in May 2026.

World Vision is integrating MHPSS across sectors to strengthen wellbeing, resilience, and development outcomes for children, families, and communities. Rather than treating MHPSS as a standalone intervention, the initiative embeds psychosocial support into programmes such as health and nutrition, early childhood development, livelihoods, and WASH through a participatory, rights-based, and community-driven approach.

The initiative demonstrates how integrated MHPSS can improve child learning outcomes, caregiver wellbeing, family resilience, and community cohesion, particularly in fragile and crisis-affected settings. Through co-creation, capacity building, monitoring, and cross-sector collaboration, the model offers a scalable and systems-strengthening approach that can be adapted across diverse humanitarian and development contexts.
