Food aid provides much-needed lifeline to families who lost everything in Philippines

Monday, October 5, 2020

When natural or manmade emergencies strike, families who previously had means to provide for their needs often find themselves in dire need.

This is the story of Sarah, a mother of three in the Philippines. Before the conflict in their area in 2017, they had no problems providing for their family's needs between the store they operated and her husband's work as a mechanic.

In an instant, however, everything changed and her family of five joined the more than 800 million people globally who do not have enough food to eat.

At World Vision, we believe access to good nutrition should be available to all people, always. That is why we are working to provide for immediate needs of survival, while also addressing the root causes of food insecurity, increasing knowledge of proper nutrition and equipping parents the tools they need to be able to provide nutritious foods for their families.

By uniting to share our love of food, we can work together to tackle hunger and ensure access to nutritious food for all people, regardless of where they live.

Hunger is solvable if we all work together.

Help the most vulnerable children in dangerous places survive, recover, build a future.
