DR Congo: 18 children chose their sponsors through the Chosen initiative in Karawa AP

In Karawa, Nord Ubangi Province, a wave of joy swept through the community as 18 children took part in World Vision DRC’s Chosen initiative, a groundbreaking approach to child sponsorship where children choose their sponsors. Supported by World Vision Canada, this event celebrated empowerment, dignity, and hope. With colourful decorations, music, and heartfelt smiles, each child proudly selected a sponsor, wrote a personal letter, and posed for a photo, symbolising a new bond built on choice and respect. Parents and community members shared in the excitement, seeing in Chosen a promise of transformation for Karawa through upcoming development projects.
