When disaster strikes, seconds matter

This World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate Kennedy Shawa, a driver in World Vision Zambia's Emergency Affairs Department and one of the first responders who delivers hope in times of crisis. 

From transporting emergency supplies to reaching families affected by floods, droughts, and other disasters, Kennedy plays a key role in ensuring life-saving assistance reaches the most vulnerable children and communities. 

"Being among the first to arrive during a crisis is an opportunity to help restore hope and dignity to people facing difficult circumstances." 

Today, we honour Kennedy and thousands of humanitarian workers who continue to serve with courage, compassion, and commitment. Thank you for helping communities recover, rebuild, and look to the future with hope.
