Empowered Women, Stronger Communities in Plumtree
In Plumtree, southern Zimbabwe, World Vision is implementing the Empowered Worldview (EWV) project — a biblically based model designed to transform mindsets and promote lasting change in communities affected by poverty.
Through this initiative, many women have gained new skills, confidence and hope, enabling them to take active roles in improving the wellbeing of their families. By addressing dependency mindsets and encouraging self-belief, Empowered Worldview helps individuals recognise their potential and take practical steps toward building sustainable livelihoods.
When combined with other development programmes, EWV strengthens long-term impact by fostering behavioural change and empowering communities to become agents of their own transformation.
Today in Plumtree, the results are visible: women are leading initiatives, supporting their households and contributing to stronger, more resilient communities — a powerful reminder that when people’s mindsets change, lasting transformation becomes possible.
