Together, we visited a community in Thanh Hóa Province, a community where we have never worked before, and where we are now in the early stages of co creating a development programme with the local government, partners, the community itself, and supporters from Singapore.

World Vision Empowers 12-Year-Old Mathews to Become an Education Champion
Learn how World Vision empowered 12-year-old Mathews in Malawi to become an Education Champion in his community. Once facing significant barriers to schooling due to mobility challenges, long distances and harsh weather conditions, Mathews often missed classes and struggled to pursue his dream of learning. Through support from World Vision’s Thundu Area Programme, he received a wheelchair that transformed his ability to attend school consistently. He was later trained as a Literacy Champion Leader, equipping him with the skills and confidence to support other children. Today, Mathews leads reading and writing sessions for more than 40 children in his village.
