My life...

Dad left us when we were small. However, with our mother and three sisters, we continued our lives with relatives and neighbors who stood by our side all the time. He was very important to me, and I came to know it only now that I have grown up," says Anxhela, the girl from Korça. Having studied hard, she managed to get the scholarship Pashko from UET because she did not want to give up studies on tertiary education.

She is one of the most active youths in her village and city, and helps everyone she can. But her childhood she recalls, was not easy at all: "Along with our third sister, we went to school, moving on from one grade to another with great difficulty because the demands began to grow on mom. She worked hard, but the income was not sufficient and we were lacking even textbooks and school supplies. "

The little ones grew from day to day. Her mother struggled with all her might to meet all their needs, but income was often insufficient. When Anxhi was attending the seventh grade, she became part of the World Vision organization's painting contest. She then began to participate in activities organized by the student government and the Organization. She made many friends who supported her whenever she needed, and one of them was Klerina. She was her neighbor and leader of the youth group of the church, and a volunteer with World Vision.

Being part of the WV youth group, she enrolled on the winter school for senior students, organized from the European University of Tirana, with students coming from the Impact groups of the different villages of Korça.

After a while, Klerina notified her that she was awarded the scholarship. Together with Anxhi’s family they went to the University because it was the scholarship grant ceremony. "During the ceremony, Mom was crying of joy. Our happiness was boundless and I felt like in a dream. I grew up in World Vision, I went there as often as I could, and together with Brajan a couple of months ago, I was the speaker of the Youth Festival of Social Justice 2017. I think that we, the youth, must react, improve life in the community where we live, in order for us to be an example for all those who need it”- she says.
