Strategic Objective: Increase in Primary School Children Who Can Read

Through fiscal year 2022, Education projects focused on basic education specifically in primary schools. Key problems affecting primary education in Burundi include; poor quality of teaching and learning in schools, which results in high school dropouts and Low literacy levels. World Vision International Burundi contributed to improve the quality of teaching and learning environment and 161300 children has been reached in 275 schools.    

Achievements in fiscal 2022:

  • 85,200 teachers whose capacities were build,
  • 161,300 children have been taught using the Literacy Boost teaching methodology,

  • 122,328 children were supported through school feeding program,

  • 142 primary schools supported through school feeding program,

  •   275 schools supported with teaching and learning materials or trainings
