From Exodus to Hope: The Story of Yacouba Moussa, Farmer and Butcher in Kouloumboutaye
Yacouba Moussa, a father of 14 children in Kouloumboutaye (Maradi), was forced to migrate every year due to poverty and food insecurity. In 2019, his life changed thanks to the Maradi Integrated Resilience Project (MIRP), funded by WFP and implemented by World Vision. Thanks to stable employment on land restoration sites, he was able to stay in the village, provide for his family, and invest in agriculture and livestock farming. Today, he lives with dignity in his own home and no longer feels the need to leave. His story illustrates the positive impact of a well-targeted project on community resilience.
