POSITION: Government Relations Coordinator

1. Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure CSA and MoFAD reporting standards and systems are fully addressed and procedures are adhered as per their guideline , as well as documentation, filling and reporting mechanisms are to the standard and fully implemented
- Prepare monthly management report that captures progress, challenges from Aps and Clusters and present recommendations to GR Manager
- Follow up timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of recommendations and present to GR manager
- Analyze the needs of training all level staff and develop training programs to meet such needs
- Identify and assess training needs of staff by conferring with APS/POO managers and supervisors or conduct surveys
- Supervise the phase out procedure in areas of fixed asset and advice on exit reports by APS/clusters
- Support Government Relations to implement government relations strategies
- Assist in the drafting of government relations communications including correspondence, presentations and briefing notes
- Coordinate, plan and implement government relations events for Aps and Clusters
- Maintain a government relations contact and engagement database (Track line)
- Conduct and coordinate government affairs research and monitoring that will be undertaken by Aps and/or Clusters
- Coordinate meetings with government officials in collaboration with Communication department
- Provide general administrative support to government relations team
- Identify all policies and strategies of the government are well understood by all level staff
- Follow up any and all state legislation, regulations and environmental changes that may impact the mission, priorities and goals of the organization.
- Drafting, negotiating (including problem-solving) and advocating WVE positions, including letters, position papers, testimonies, legislative proposals, public comments, and other relevant materials·
- Draft timely information on relevant policy decisions made by government bodies at federal and regional levels and avail it for GR manager.
2. Qualifications Required: BA Degree in Public Administration, Business, Communication or related fields. MA in LLB or Political Science is preferred
3. Work Experience A minimum of 4 years relevant experience
4. Technical Skills and Abilities
- The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- Balanced combination of GR experience of INGOs and non-profit business
- Experience with government regulation and ChSA laws
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in writing and verbally with people
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Amharic
- Excellent working knowledge of government/ donor regulations and requirements
- Skilled at developing collaborations among diverse parties to garner support behind ideas
