Brief description: The CC-DRR Consortium was formed in 2014 to bring synergy and greater coordination around Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Education sector in Nepal. In this project, a harmonised Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF) along with a set of associated tools will be developed in leadership of the Department of Education under the Ministry of Education by actively engaging other education and disaster management stakeholders.

The comprehensive school safety framework will be rolled out and tested in 60 schools in six districts to increase disaster preparedness and resilience of the education system. Evidence and best practices in reducing the impact of disasters through school disaster management will be captured and disseminated for the scale-up of DRR mainstreaming in the education system in Nepal.
