Equal Together: Engaging Men and Boys as Agents of Change in World Vision Programming

This strategic brief examines how World Vision programmes engage men and boys as allies and agents of change to advance gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI). 

Drawing on evidence from 13 Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP)-funded projects across Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, and Vanuatu, it highlights promising approaches – including MenCare, Community Change, and Journeys of Transformation – and demonstrates how engaging men can strengthen nutrition, livelihoods, shared decision-making, women's leadership, gender-based violence prevention, and community systems. The brief also outlines key lessons and recommendations for integrating evidence-based male engagement into development programming to achieve sustainable, transformative change.
