The Advocate is a publication designed to carry advocacy issues that children in Lesotho intend to share during the commemoration of the Day of the African Child at the a symposium hosted by the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child - an African Union body to monitor the implementation of the African Children's Charter.

In this edition, children share their concerns on the lack of laws regulating traditional initiation schools –how children drop out of regular schools to enrol into initiation schools, and despite the concerns, lack of laws undermine the efforts to address schools dropout. This publication also contains stories of other harmful practices affecting children such as child pregnancy and early marriage.

Clickable videos have been embedded into the publication for you to watch and listen to how children's lives are being affected by some of the harmful practices around their communities.
