Major highlights of the Nepal COVID-19 Emergency Response (COVER) Project, as of June 17, 2020 are as follows: 

  • World Vision (WV) has completed data collection for comprehensive needs assessment in its working areas
  • WV is continuously broadcasting PSAs through 300+ radio stations associated with the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal (ACORAB). WV has reached 15 million people throughout the country
  • WV is airing a radio programme nationwide named Hamro Ghar Hamro Pathshala to contribute to learning of children during lockdown; targeting 104,000 Children in its operation areas
  • WV supported the Ministry of Health and Population with 1,000 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and 130 Infrared (IR) thermometers through the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens to be delivered to frontline health workers in 14 WV working districts
  • 16,499 soap bars and hygiene materials distributed to 5,163 Households.
  • 1,931 households in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Udayapur, Morang, Sarlahiand Bajhang reached through the distribution of food packages in the month of April. Additional food handed over to local governments in Sindhuli, Kathmandu, Lamjung, Doti, Achham, Kailali, Bajhangand Jumlato reach 685 Households. 664 households linked with government to receive food support in Lalitpur District.
  • Food support provided to 4 child care homes reaching 214 Children and hygiene kits have been distributed to 351 children of 8 Brick industries
  • Material support provided to 7 District Disaster Management Committees (DDMCs) and 32 local level governments to build and operate quarantine centres
  • 17,500 people reached through social media messaging
  • 2 hand-washing corners established in Sindhuli
