Three months have passed since the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on 28 March 2025, yet humanitarian conditions remain critical. Early rains have further deteriorated the living situation for many children and families still residing in makeshift shelters, struggling to rebuild their lives. Access to clean water, sanitation, healthcare, and protection services, particularly for those displaced in Mandalay and Sagaing, remains dire. The earthquake compounds an already dire humanitarian situation where nearly 20 million people already needed humanitarian assistance across the country due to prolonged conflict, recurring natural disasters and economic collapse.

Between January and March 2025, World Vision delivered over 58,700 services to children and families on the move across Latin America—demonstrating a sustained, child-focused, and community-driven response to an evolving migration crisis.

As climate induced disasters get more frequent and intense, proactive and community driven solutions have never been so urgent. Through Anticipatory Action, World Vision has empowered local actors to take preventative measures before disaster strikes.

In 2024, we reached 17.9 million people, including 9.5 million children, and responded to over 16 emergencies across the region. From food security and health to protection and education, our work has brought tangible relief and hope to families affected by crisis.

On World Refugee Day, World Vision Kenya stands in solidarity with refugees, highlighting the urgent need to honour their stories and uphold their rights amid a growing global displacement crisis.

May 2025 Ukraine Crisis Response Factsheet: World Vision has reached 2,240,176 people through food, non-food items, cash assistance, protection and education interventions, livelihood, and mental health programming.
