Following the Cambodia–Thailand border displacement crisis, more than 640,000 people were displaced, with 20,923 people still unable to return home as of 8 July 2026 due to ongoing damage and occupation of villages and homes. While the Government of Cambodia has constructed over 4,000 temporary shelters for affected families, significant humanitarian needs remain in education, health, protection, food security, livelihoods, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
Since the onset of the emergency, World Vision International in Cambodia has provided a comprehensive humanitarian response across five provinces, mobilizing US$1.8 million to support 40,158 families and reaching 147,401 people, including 46,385 children. Working closely with government authorities, UN agencies, donors, corporate partners, and local communities, World Vision has delivered integrated assistance in education, food security and livelihoods, health and nutrition, protection and psychosocial support, shelter, cash assistance, and WASH.
Key interventions include the distribution of 11,584 learning kits, 6,862 school uniforms, and 170 bicycles to support children's continued access to education; cash assistance for 1,982 families and food support for vulnerable households; psychosocial support for 20,040 people through child-friendly spaces and community-based services; and nutrition assistance for pregnant and lactating women and children under five. World Vision also strengthened access to safe water by establishing boreholes, water treatment systems, and solar-powered water systems benefiting over 10,000 people, while improving sanitation facilities and distributing hygiene supplies. Additional support included the installation of solar lighting in resettlement sites and the construction of a health centre to improve access to healthcare services.
