Carolina é mãe, uma das muitas que, no contexto de emergência, tem trabalhado para contornar a situação desafiadora em que se encontra. Aos 42 anos e com seus cinco filhos, vive na comunidade de Bata-Bata, município Humpata na Huíla. No curto tempo chuvoso que é registado no Sul, Carolina trabalha na sua pequena lavra, e no tempo seco, que é a maior parte do período sazonal, ela vai fazendo biscates para obter o que dar de comer para os seus filhos. A curta época de chuva não é suficiente para que o plantio seja próspero, e com a crise económica que vem que se agravando no país, as famílias veem os episódios de falta de comida tornarem-se cada vez mais dramáticos.
