When Confidence Grows, So Does Hope

The room is full of laughter as children work together, solve challenges, and encourage one another. At first glance, it looks like play. But through World Vision Lebanon's Childhood Rescue Project, every activity is part of the IMPACT+ model, helping children build confidence, strengthen relationships, and discover the positive role they can play in their communities.

For Noujoud, the journey has been life-changing. "Before, I didn't have any friends, and I lacked self-confidence. I was really shy and quite anxious. Now, I've learned how to talk to people, and I have confidence in myself. I've made new friends, and I'm really happy."

Project Officer Yasmine explains that IMPACT+ is about much more than weekly sessions. "These sessions help children strengthen their personalities and discover their rights and duties within society. At the end of the programme, they come together to design a project that benefits both themselves and their community."

The lessons don't stay inside the centre. "When I come here, I learn new skills and take part in activities, then I share them with my friends so they can learn too," Noujoud says.

Noujoud takes part in an IMPACT+ session, here she develops news skills, builds friendships, and gains confidence.

The project's impact extends beyond children. While Noujoud attends IMPACT+ sessions, her mother, Aziza, participates in the Cash for Work component, earning an income while helping rehabilitate public spaces in her community. "As a mother, I love to work for the sake of my children. When they need something, I can provide it for them. I love this work, and I hope it continues because it changes my atmosphere, and my children's too."

As she looks at the park she helped restore, Aziza smiles. "I love it when people come here. The park is clean, relaxing, and everyone can enjoy it."

Aziza Rehabilitates a public park through the Cash-for-Work programme, creating a cleaner and more welcoming space for her community. When caregivers have the opportunity to thrive, their families and communities grow stronger alongside them.

Watching her mother embrace new opportunities has inspired Noujoud just as much as the sessions themselves. "My mother is my strength. She always encourages me to do things I never thought I could do, and I've started doing them because of her. My mum is everything in my life."

For Aziza, every day of work is also an investment in her children's future. "I want them to learn and become doctors or engineers. I was deprived of an education, and I want something different for them."

Through the Childhood Rescue Project, children are discovering confidence, caregivers are rebuilding their livelihoods with dignity, and families are growing stronger together; creating lasting change that reaches far beyond the programme itself.
