Enough Campaign Intensifies Calls for Collective Action to Eradicate Malnutrition in Mozambique

Thousands of community members, along with their families and children, are participating in roadshows in northern Nampula province in response to a call for intensified efforts to reduce Mozambique’s high malnutrition rate, currently at 37 percent.
The roadshows are part of the Enough Campaign implementation plan, organized by World Vision Mozambique in collaboration with former Minister of Health, Nazira Abdula, and now the campaign’s ambassador in Nampula, the country’s most populated province.
The hosting districts, Murrupula and Memba, as part of the roadshows, are organizing cooking demonstrations, showcasing locally produced food items, and promoting knowledge exchange through lectures on best practices essential to ending malnutrition in Mozambique.
“The voices of these children must be heard, because investing in children today is equivalent to ensuring a strong, healthy, and prepared generation for tomorrow,” said Dr. Nazira Abdula, Ambassador for the campaign.
Children also had their voices heard. Representing the children of Murrupula district, a young girl named Laiquénia took the stage to appeal for a country “where all children have enough and healthy food on their tables.”
