Mozambique Rallies to End Child Malnutrition: Enough Campaign Gains Momentum

Mozambican civil society, government officials, private sector leaders, and humanitarian organizations are united in their call for stronger collaboration and resource sharing to combat child malnutrition.
This shared commitment was underscored during the opening of the Enough Campaign Appropriation Workshop, organized by World Vision Mozambique. The campaign seeks to elevate the visibility of children in public policies related to food security and nutrition.
The workshop takes place against the backdrop of alarming malnutrition rates in Nampula Province, where 46.7% of children under five suffer from chronic malnutrition despite the region’s rich cultural and agricultural potential.
Government representatives emphasized that the Enough Campaign is more than a slogan; it is a call to action.
“This campaign is a cry of urgency from our communities, our mothers, our fathers, and above all, our children, who deserve to grow up healthy, dignified, and full of hope. Our province cannot continue to be the face of food insecurity and malnutrition,” said Cedinha Crisanto, Provincial Director of Gender, Children and Social Action
The campaign is backed by the Civil Society Platform’s Manifesto, which calls for allocating 1% of the national budget to nutrition-sensitive initiatives, equivalent to an annual investment of $10 per child.
