Every day, dozens of women walk through the doors of the Dosso Mother and Child Health Center hoping to receive timely, high-quality healthcare. For the medical staff, meeting these expectations is an ongoing challenge, particularly in a context where the demand for obstetric and gynecological services continues to grow. Today, thanks to medical equipment donated by the Women of World Vision Niger, healthcare teams are better equipped to provide timely and quality care to women and newborns.

Kidarou Hima, General Supervisor of the Dosso Mother and Child Health Center, still remembers the challenges the staff faced before receiving the donation.

"We did our best with the resources available, but shortages of essential medical equipment sometimes limited our ability to respond quickly to every situation," he explains.

The situation changed with the arrival of a significant donation of equipment for the operating theatre. The donation included surgical lights, a modern operating table, infant warming lamps, cesarean section instrument sets, gynecological surgical kits, an oxygen concentrator, and several other essential accessories required for surgical procedures.

For the General Supervisor, the true value of the donation lies not only in the equipment itself but in the quality of care it makes possible.

"Our teams use this equipment every day. It makes their work easier and improves the organization and efficiency of surgical procedures in the operating theatre," he says.

One of the most noticeable improvements has been the speed of patient care. Medical teams can now prepare and perform emergency procedures more efficiently, helping teams respond more efficiently to women requiring urgent treatment..

This improvement directly benefits women and newborns who often arrive at the facility in critical condition.

"When a patient arrives with an emergency, we now have the necessary equipment readily available. This allows us to act more quickly and provide better-quality care," he adds.

The hospital staff have also noticed a significant improvement in their working environment. The equipment is reliable, easy to use, and well suited to the needs of the facility. Having the right tools readily available has increased staff motivation and enabled healthcare professionals to perform their duties with greater confidence and peace of mind.

According to the General Supervisor, the donation addressed a critical need and has significantly improved the performance of the operating theatre.

"We are very satisfied with these medical supplies. They provide tremendous support to our teams and contribute every day to improving the quality of care we provide to our patients."

Grateful for World Vision Niger's support, he expressed his appreciation to the women's team who made this initiative possible.

"We sincerely thank World Vision Niger for this valuable support. This donation has brought real added value to our health facility. The communities we serve are the direct beneficiaries through improved quality of care and faster access to life-saving services."
