After Category 5, Tropical Cyclone Harold hit Vanuatu on 6 April 2020, World Vision provided essential relief items to affected communities and implemented COVID-19 prevention measures. Some 182 bamboo tippy taps, a Vanuatu innovation, were installed at distribution sites and in communities to promote hand washing and 3,398 COVID-19 prevention and ending violence brochures were distributed.

COVID-19 messaging packs were generously funded by UKAID through Start Fund and the Government of Canada through the Canadian Humanitarian Assistance Fund.

Bamboo tips taps installed at distribution sites encourage hand washing.
