Winter clothes bring warmth, and better school attendance
“My grandson does not have parents,” said the old lady with tears in her eyes. “He lost his father when he was only three years old and his young mother decided to go abroad where she remarried. Now she has a new family with no place for Faruk; that’s why he is living with me.”
The hardships suffered by this family were alleviated by a visit from staff of World Vision Bosnia and Herzegovina with “Gifts of Hope.” Faruk received warm winter clothes, including a pair of boots.
World Vision supports over 100 poor children like Faruk through the “Send a Child to School” project by providing them with essential supplies that enable even the poorest to attend school.
“Because of good-hearted people abroad, I won’t have to worry about my Faruk this school year,” said his grandmother. “The new clothing and new boots will help him not to catch cold. And having a decent outfit means a lot in this community, especially for an abandoned child. Now I can afford to buy him schoolbooks, which are very expensive, and even a new school bag.
“We thank all those people for their generosity and may the good Lord bless them all.”
