School children engage actively in an earthquake drill in Lamjung district organised with the support of World Vision.

To mark National Earthquake Safety Day, World Vision supported Nepal Red Cross Society- Lamjung Chapter organise an earthquake drill with search and rescue activity for school children inorder to raise awareness on earthquake preparedness and reduce potential risks of a disaster. Around 1,500 school children including teachers and school management committee took part in the drill.

World Vision is an active member of Child-Centred Disaster Risk Management consortium which seeks to raise awareness and ensure child well-being in disaster risk reduction programming. As appropriate in each sector we build disaster risk reduction activities into project designs and prepare for effective disaster response working with government, communities and other non-government organisations.
