Madan Bista (14) from Doti district is a very talented and confident boy. After becoming the president of a child club five months back, he got a chance to attend child club management training and go to the district headquarter for an exposure visit which was supported by World Vision.

With his learnings, his club now organises different extra-curricular activities like quiz, cultural show, athletics competition, awareness events on cleanliness and sanitation, ban on alcoholism in public places. One significant work his club did was to support the welcome to school programme by visiting homes of 52 students who had dropped out and giving them stationeries.  As a result, all of those students are regular to school.

Madan’s club has become very popular, so much so that the members are called for village level meetings too. “I have plans to increase the membership of my club and make it very active so that we can bring positive changes in our community,” he says.
