Training for sustainable water supply

Women in Nigali Village Development Committee (VDC), Kailali District take part in training prior to the construction of a water supply scheme in their village.

The training organised by Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization, a local partner and supported by World Vision focused on providing technical knowledge on maintenance of water pipes for sustainability of the water supply scheme. It included seven women and fourteen men. The training has provided not only men but also women with the skills required to be Village Maintenance Workers (VMW).

The water supply scheme targets to provide drinking water to 106 people and children in Nigali VDC and will be constructed in partnership with the local community and District Waster Supply Supply and Sanitation Office.
