Meet Andrew Morley

As President and Chief Executive Officer of World Vision International, I am driven to bring an end to poverty in my lifetime, especially for the most vulnerable children. I came to World Vision after I started training to become an ordained minister. Prior to that, I spent over two decades scaling digital businesses across different industries, and I have held leadership roles at Google and Ford. I am a people person, and feel blessed to serve in this role!

"Prayer is the bedrock of who we are and what we do at World Vision. We trust that the future is in God’s hands, and that is why hope springs eternal."

Ask Andrew

Does World Vision's child sponsorship really make a difference?

Yes! I sponsor several children myself, and I wouldn't do this if I didn't believe in it. Our programmes address the root causes of children's vulnerability to break the chains of poverty. We use evidence-based interventions in an integrated approach to empower families to better care for children. We also partner with communities, including faith leaders, to address specific challenges and improve children's education, health, access to clean water, protection and more. I am very proud of our long-term community programmes, and I have seen for myself the difference they make as I visit them all over the world.

Is World Vision making a real impact through its work?

Absolutely - without a doubt! Using a rigorous, research-based process, we can share that every 60 seconds, a family gets access to clean water. Over a 10-year period, 89% of the severely malnourished children we treated made a full recovery. World Vision is the World Food Programme's largest food distribution partner, and we are the leading non-governmental provider of clean water in the developing world. We are improving the lives of children so that they can fulfill their God-given potential.

How much donation money actually goes to the children?

In fact, much of what is donated by our wonderful supporters goes to children. For every $1 donated, we deliver on average $2 in impact, due to the integration of grants and donated goods. And we're always working to keep our overhead low. In 2023, we used 89% of our total operating expenses for programmes that benefit children, families and communities in need. Only 3% went to management. World Vision is regularly reviewed and held accountable by independent third-party organisations, such as Better Business Bureau and CharityWatch.
