World Vision Afghanistan Country Profile FY25
Download
World Vision began operations in Afghanistan in 2001 with an emergency response to support children and families affected by conflict and natural disasters, later expanding into long-term development programmes in the western region.
World Vision Afghanistan (WVA) works to ensure children are healthy, educated, protected, and actively participating in meeting their basic needs. The organisation has built strong trust and presence across the four provinces where it operates. Recognising that sustainable change requires collective effort, WVA prioritises collaboration and partnerships, particularly with affected communities themselves.
WVA is well established in Herat, Badghis, Faryab, and Ghor provinces, working closely with children, families, teachers, community leaders, religious figures, government institutions, and national and international partners.
