Situation Update #3: World Vision Scales Up Response to Nepal Flash Floods

As of 5 September 2026, World Vision International Nepal has reached 1,355 people, including an estimated 542 children, affected by the devastating flash floods in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. Support provided to date includes emergency food assistance, shelter and household items, water purification supplies, hygiene kits, dignity kits, and other essential relief support to help families meet their immediate needs.

Working alongside government authorities, local partners and humanitarian actors, World Vision is implementing a multi-phase response to support children and families affected by the disaster. In the relief phase, the response aims to support 25,000 people across 5,000 households, including 10,000 children. For early recovery and rehabilitation, the response aims to assist 20,000 people, including 8,000 children.

Relief Phase Priorities focus on emergency food assistance, shelter and essential household items, hygiene and WASH support, assistance for pregnant and lactating women, child protection services, dignity kits for women and girls, and psychosocial support for children and families.

During the Early Recovery Phase, World Vision will support livelihood restoration, continue WASH interventions, and help children safely return to learning, reconnect with essential services, and regain a sense of stability and hope as their communities rebuild
