Zimbabwe: Our meals, our voice
Download
In Zimbabwe, World Vision’s School Meals Child-led Research initiative, part of the global ENOUGH campaign, places children at the centre of efforts to improve school nutrition. Using qualitative and quantitative methods such as interviews, focus groups, and surveys, child researchers explored the realities of school meals from their own lived experiences. Their findings revealed challenges, including food scarcity, nutritional quality, and the impact of economic hardship on access to meals.
This participatory approach not only highlights the obstacles children face but also their aspirations for a future where every child receives nutritious meals that support learning and well-being. By amplifying children’s voices in advocacy, the initiative calls for inclusive, child-informed solutions to strengthen school meal programmes across Zimbabwe.
