World Vision Eswatini and the Esicojeni Foundation have formalised a new partnership aimed at improving the wellbeing of vulnerable children and families in the Shiselweni Region through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mbabane.

The partnership marks a significant step towards addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable households through integrated interventions focused on food security, livelihoods, education, and youth empowerment.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, World Vision Eswatini National Director, Amos Zaindi, announced that the partnership represents an investment of more than SZL 1.2 million over a 12-month period. The initiative is expected to directly benefit 350 households, empower 80 out-of-school youth, and support four primary schools in the Shiselweni Region.

Zaindi highlighted that the programme will focus on strengthening household resilience through climate-smart agriculture, skills development, and improved nutrition practices.

"Through climate-smart agriculture, skills training, and improved nutrition practices, this initiative will help build resilient communities that can sustainably provide for their children," he said.

The initiative seeks to equip families and young people with practical skills and resources that will enable them to improve their livelihoods while creating a more secure environment for children to thrive.

Esicojeni Foundation Deputy Chairperson, Marjorie Balarin, called on individuals, organisations, and the private sector to continue investing in initiatives that uplift vulnerable communities, particularly children.

She also acknowledged the Foundation's partners and supporters, including Standard Bank Eswatini, Stanlib, MTN Eswatini, Letshego, and others whose contributions continue to make impactful community development programmes possible.

She further recognised the continued collaboration and support of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, whose partnership remains instrumental in advancing community development efforts across the country.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating sustainable solutions that address the root causes of vulnerability while improving opportunities for children, youth, and families.

As World Vision Eswatini and the Esicojeni Foundation embark on this journey together, both organisations remain united in their vision of building stronger, more resilient communities where every child can experience a brighter future.
