A Little Water; A Lot of Joy

Since 2015, Niger has been facing an unprecedented security and humanitarian crises affecting the Diffa, Tahoua, Tillabery and recently the Maradi regions. This crisis has led to a massive displacement of people. The situation is complicated by violent attacks by non-state armed groups which often target military forces and civilians.

In July, 2019 our teams in Niger declared the situation so desperate in Diffa, it required special 12-month emergency response programming to meet the needs of the families affected.

The response objective is to meet immediate survival needs and increase the resilience of 242,000 of the most vulnerable refugees, Internally Displaced People (IDPs) and host communities, focusing on children and their families.
