Somalia faces another famine- fifteen years later

20 July 2026 marks fifteen years after hashtag#famine was declared in Somalia in 2011, a crisis that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, World Vision is warning that the country stands on the edge of another severe hunger emergency. 

World Vision Somali Communication Manager, Walter Mawere reports from Buurhakaba. Families in Buurhakaba are already suffering from famine conditions which have left hundreds of children severely malnourished.
