Understanding how COVID-19 has adversely affected children in Sudan

As we mark this year's Day of the African Child, we are deeply concerned at how the pandemic has taken a significant on the children on the continent, and in Sudan. The pandemic has only escalated the needs that were already present, and continues to drive needs across the different sectors. 

“Too many children, especially those most vulnerable, face extremely difficult situations, such as heightened food insecurity and malnutrition, as their families are coping with loss of livelihood, reduced income and follow-on financial struggles due to the effects of COVID-19,” says Vince Edwards, World Vision’s Country Program Director in Sudan.
