Moving forward: How Charles turned a lifetime of setbacks into a family enterprise
Charles was six years old when he lost both of his parents. There was no inheritance waiting for him, no land, no savings, no one to walk him to his first day of school. He grew up in Luro village, Maridi County, raised by relatives who could offer him shelter but not opportunity. While other children learned to read, Charles learned to survive.
By the time he was a grown man with a wife, Roda, and seven children of his own three boys and four girls the old wound had calcified into a belief that the world simply was not built for people like him.
