DR Congo: From Skills to Self-Reliance: Sephora Rebuilds Her Future Through Tailoring
This article tells the inspiring story of Sephora, a single mother living with a disability in Bukanga Lonzo, Kwango Province, who overcame economic hardship through World Vision DRC’s livelihood and inclusion support. After receiving tailoring training, a start-up kit and an adapted tricycle, Sephora established a home-based business, gained financial independence and improved her ability to care for her daughter. Her journey highlights how inclusive skills development and targeted livelihood support can restore dignity, strengthen self-reliance and create hope for vulnerable families.

The baker who bet on herself: Esther's story of turning cassava into a future
Esther had run out of easy options. A 29-year-old single mother of four in Maridi, she was watching her household fall apart at the joins over school fees. Two of her children had already been sent home from class because she couldn't pay. She was weighing whether to leave her kids and search for casual labor in town, the kind of decision no mother wants to make, and the kind that rarely fixes anything for long.

DR Congo: Enabel and World Vision strengthen livelihoods and resilience among communities in Gemena
Through funding from Enabel, World Vision is helping vulnerable communities in Gemena Territory, South-Ubangi Province, strengthen their livelihoods and resilience. Through Farmer Field Schools, functional literacy classes and Village Savings and Loan Associations, farmers and women are gaining practical agricultural, financial and literacy skills that are already improving harvests, household income and economic independence.

DR Congo: More than 20,000 Displaced People From Pakadjuma Receive Emergency Food from World Vision DRC and Save the Children
World Vision DRC and Save the Children International, through the Joining Forces consortium, provided emergency food assistance to more than 20,000 people displaced from Pakadjuma and now living in Kinkole, Kinshasa. Implemented in coordination with government authorities, the intervention reached over 6,000 vulnerable households with essential food supplies while highlighting the urgent humanitarian needs that extend beyond food, including healthcare, child protection, shelter and education. The response reaffirms both organisations' commitment to protecting the well-being and dignity of children and families affected by forced displacement.
