POSITION:               JEOP Program Officer

1. Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare log frame, budgets and other project documentation in accordance with world vision formats and standards and submit them to the JEOP Manager/ Finance Manager for review and approval prior to donor submission.
  • Develop detailed implementation plans and budgets for existing and forthcoming programs and projects.
  • Ensure project implementation is aligned to with project design document.
  • Develop implementation and management strategies that enable all projects to achieve outputs and outcomes within prescribed time frames and budgets.
  • Provide recommendations to the JEOP Manager for improved, streamlined and updated program implementation.
  • Ensure positive community involvement and participation in program implementation.
  • Present monthly and quarterly progress reports to the JEOP Manager.
  • Build the design and implementation capacity of program staff.
  • Under the guidance of the JEOP Manager, represent WVE at appropriate UN and NGO meetings and workshops, joint-agency assessments; and task force teams.

2. Qualifications Required: MA/MSc or BA/BSc Degree in Agric. Econ, Disaster Management, Rural Development, and Economics & Dev’s. Studies

3. Work Experience:  Minimum of 5 years of experience in relief and/or development program interventions implementation

4. Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in integrated project design, implementation and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with major donor funding requirements- USAID, UNOCHA, ECHO, DFID, CIDA and AusAid, etc.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skill including influencing and negotiation.
  • A high level of computer literacy (word, excel, ppt and Lotus notes).
