POSITION:               KIA-KOICA Project Manager

1.     Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee, ensure and manage the execution of the entire project in accordance with WV partnership framework, WVE and WVKO policies, KIA-KOICA guidelines and government regulations
  • Ensure the proper physical & financial implementation of the project as planned during the desired timeframe, while ensuring efficient and effective utilization of project resources
  • Oversee and supervise the project implementation of sub-grantees in their operational areas, including contracted partners (e.g. CAWE); proactively request partners’ feedback on the progress of the project, challenges and concerns encountered and take appropriate actions, ensuring a capacity building and coaching approach
  • Ensure an intentional networking with federal, Woreda, zonal and regional government offices/institutions, non-governmental actors and other stakeholders as specified in the project
  • Ensure the compilation and submission of consolidated financial and narrative reports to the donor in alignment to the Contract and the MoU
  • Ensure active partner engagement as required during monitoring visits and meetings
  • Oversee and ensure the development and execution of a result oriented participatory M&E and knowledge management system, to enhance accountability and impact demonstration
  • Submit operation plans and regular progress reports to respective government offices on time
  • Provide internal situation updates and progress reports to WVKO, the sub grantee partners and relevant HO units of the partner organizations on a regular basis; receive enquiries and give response in consultation with WVE concerned project team
  • In consultation with WVE concerned project team and partners, ensure the preparation of detail implementation plans (DIP) and budget breakdowns including cash flow for the project based on the project design

2. Qualifications Required:   BA/BSc Degree in Business Development, marketing, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Development studies or other related fields. Preferred: MA/MSc in Development Studies or Social Science, or other related field                                   

3. Work Experience: A minimum of 6 years relevant experience from which 4 years in management level

4. Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Technical Training qualifications required:  marketing, business plan development, Value chain analysis, Economic development, Market Facilitation, cooperatives and related
  • Experience with complex M&E systems
  • NGO experience is preferred.
  • Experience in KOICA funded projects is an advantage
  • Experience with the private sector partnership program is an advantage
