POSITION: Resident Project Engineer

1. Major Responsibilities:
- Implementation of the project work based on the contract agreement keeping the standard quality and specification;
- Monitoring and supervising the contractor works and activities as per the agreement of signed contract with WVE;
- In consultation with Emergency WASH Response Manager during project implementation, monitoring and checking the overall design/revision process of the project with the program area Engineer;
- Coordinating and providing technical leadership on the implementation of the work so that the contractor should complete the project work within the agreed time frame;
- Ensuring the quality of implementation of the project as per the quality standard specifications and based on the contract agreement;
- Making sure that all materials and equipments used on the project meet the required specifications;
- When necessary, he/she has the ability to slightly alter plans on the field, but changes or specifications or large-scale alterations must be approved by his/her superiors;
- Being in charge of the construction project, and reports the progress of the work, and the efficiency at which the job is being completed to the Emergency WASH Response Manager;
- The Resident Engineer will oversee the work of the consultant that has been hired by WVE to carry out design works;
- Preparation and approval of take off sheets upon completion of project activities and payment request;
- Developing collaborative relationship with in World Vision at all levels, communities, local partners and local government and conveying information and ideas and effectively coordinates to ensure overall project targets are met;
- Undertakes other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
2. Qualifications Required: BSC Degree or above in Water resources Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering or related fields
3. Work Experience and Skill Required:
- At least 5 years of work experience preferably in Water supply project management and contract administration
- Ability to coordinate project activities
- Strong supervisory skills
- Ability to travel and work under difficult conditions and to meet deadlines under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English
- Working knowledge of computers using Ms Word and Excel among other packages & communicate effectively on email and use of internet
- Good interpersonal skills
- Be a team player and communicator and work under minimal supervision.
