Water for Children of Afghanistan

Monday, March 19, 2018

Infant, child and maternal mortality rates in Afghanistan are among the highest in the world. One in ten children are dying before they reach their fifth birthday. This is due to poor sanitation, insufficient improved water and diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhoea and malnutrition.45% of people in Afghanistan lack access to an improved drinking water source. Access to clean drinking water, improved sanitation, and good hygiene practices are key to good health. World Vision in Afghanistan is working to provide children and families with access to clean drinking water. Take a look at this photo gallery to see how we are making water available for the people of Afghanistan.
