Early childhood development in Kathmandu

Children who attend an Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre in Sitaram Higher Secondary School, Ramkot Village Development Committee, Kathmandu singing with their teacher.

World Vision has supported the same school with the construction of a resource centre and compound wall for the safety of the children. The ADP has also been supporting the ECD centre with facilitator trainings, educational materials and recreational classes.

28 ECD centres in Kathmandu District are being supported by World Vision. This has resulted in increased number of young children enrolling in schools. Children in ECD centres benefit from good health and nutrition, early childhood education, safety and protection and improved social skills.
