Flood Response 2022

World Vision International-Cambodia’s Response

Some 17 Area Programmes (of a total of WVI-C's 39 APs) have been affected by the floods. In close coordination with Provincial Committee for Disaster Management (PCDM) led by Provincial Governors, as of 14th Oct, WVI-C has provided support to 911 families with 3,322 people, including 2,008 Most Vulnerable Children and 506 Registered Children with food items and non-food items, hygiene kits, child protection awareness through Do & Don’t message, including 44,310 sachets of the purifier of water (from Procter & Gamble/P&G).

H.E. General Kun Kim, Senior Minister and the first vice president of NDCM acknowledged World Vision's active engagement and complementary support to affected families. Specifically, the Senior Minister highlighted how the sachets of water purifiers really address the real need for safe drinking water in those households. This week, NCDM further seeks assistance for additional support of 160,000 sachets of the purifier of water to respond to an estimation of 4,000 households with 20,000 population in Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, and Pusat provinces. NCDM will contribute the water bucket and cotton cloth for households to treat the water using the P&G product.
