2015 was a big year for South Sudan, one of continued loss and mourning but also of resilience and hope. A resurgence of violence in Upper Nile in early 2015 and insecurity in Jonglei and Unity had devastating consequences, killing and injuring civilians and causing many more to flee their homes. The violence has also affected access to essential food and water, and to services like health and education.
