Bringing Health and Dignity to the Classroom: World Vision Zambia’s WASH in Schools Initiative
Download
No child should have to choose between their education and their health. Through our WASH in Schools (WinS) initiative, we are transforming rural classrooms into safe, healthy, and welcoming environments where children can thrive. Guided by World Vision’s global standards, this program goes beyond just building modern toilets and handwashing stations.
We actively teach life-saving hygiene habits, set up student-led health clubs, and ensure that girls have the private, dignified spaces they need to stay in school during their periods. By partnering closely with local communities, teachers, and governments to keep these facilities running smoothly, World Vision Zambia is ensuring that every child has access to clean water and safe sanitation, laying the foundation for a brighter, healthier future.
