Some of the major highlights of the Nepal COVID-19 Emergency Response (COVER) Project, as of 1 July 2020:

  • A total of 224 children identified with Child Protection concerns out of which 130 have been referred to relevant agencies and remaining are under further assessment to support.
  • WV is airing radio program nationwide named  Hamro Ghar Hamro Paathshala (5th espisode completed) to contribute to learning of children during lockdown targetting104,000 Children in working areas.
  • 16,499 soap bars and hygiene materials distributed to 5163 Households.
  • 7,455 HH in 14 working districts of WVIN reached through the distribution of food packages.
  • Food support provided to 4 Child care homes to reach 214 Children in Kathmandu.
  • 3,980 hygiene kits distributed to 2,980 children and 1000 kits to quarantine centers.
  • Material support provided to 7 District Disaster Management Committees (DDMCs) and 32 local level governments to build and operate quarantine centers.
  • 1,727 children supported with super flour ingredients.
  • 2,970 sets of Alternative Learning Materials distributed to children in 6 Districts namely Achham, Doti, Kailali, Lamjung, Sindhuliand Udayapur.
  • Orientation on psychological counselling and communication skills provided to 26 frontline staffs.
  • 28,961 people reached through social media messaging.
