Situation Report 4: World Vision Scales Up Response to Nepal Flash Floods

As of  Situation Report 4, World Vision International Nepal has reached 1,582 people, including 679 children, affected by the devastating flash floods in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. Support provided to date includes emergency food assistance, shelter kits, kitchen kits, water purification tablets, solar lights, mattresses, and child protection support through two Child Friendly Spaces.

Working alongside government authorities, local partners and humanitarian actors, World Vision is implementing a multi-phase response to support children and families affected by the disaster. The relief phase aims to reach 25,000 people, including 10,000 children, with emergency food, shelter, WASH, protection and psychosocial support, while the early recovery phase will support 20,000 people, including 8,000 children, through livelihood restoration, education, shelter and essential services.

The response is being delivered in partnership with local organizations and coordinated with government and humanitarian actors to ensure timely, effective and accountable assistance to affected communities as they recover and rebuild.
