Cash Waves Study 2025: Empowering Refugees in Azraq Camp
Download
The Cash Waves study in Azraq Camp examines how Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) impacts gender equality, child well-being, and livelihood resilience among Syrian refugees.
CVA significantly improved economic stability for 93% of households, strengthened access to education and nutrition for children, and increased women’s participation in financial decisions and income-generating activities.
Challenges persist, such as high household debt (94%) and limited livelihood opportunities. While CVA provides essential short-term relief, sustainable impact requires integrating livelihoods, women’s economic empowerment, and financial resilience interventions.
This study focused on the Solid Waste Management project, which supports Incentive-Based Volunteers. Refugees are empowered to achieve self-sufficiency, maintaining camp sanitation while earning income that supplements their CVA.
